Foresight specializes in research-based support for educational programs that impart essential knowledge, skills and attitudes about hunting, the shooting sports, and outdoor recreation. Our mission is to help agencies, organizations and schools make timely, informed decisions and guide their development of best-in-class learning systems.
Staffing
To tackle each project Foresight assembles a team of professionals with expertise in program evaluation, curriculum development, or instructional design, including online programming. The particular kind of work required for each project decides the members of each team. Typically they are professors and graduate students from colleges and universities or agency personnel. Their application of knowledge, skills and a serious work ethic help Foresight produce timely, high quality results and success for clients.

Foresight’s program evaluation includes qualitative and quantitative methods and tools. Each study fits the peculiar features or characteristics of the educational program that it is applied to. The evaluation may include interviews, observations, focus groups, opinion surveys, collection of manuals of policies and procedures, study of organizational structures, personnel issues, etc. The evaluator’s overall purpose is to know, to actually “see” and understand, what is taking place on the ground.
Publications
Often described as a gifted teacher or coach, the genuine professional educator has a positive and lasting impact on development of a learner’s knowledge, skills and attitudes. This gift is unique to that person – the teacher – and is not transferable in any direct way to another individual.
NRA Basic Pistol
Everyone who enrolls in this course is treated as an individual learner. Their instruction in handgun knowledge and skill is tailored to their personal background and interests. Ample opportunity is provided for students to ask questions, discuss issues, and inspect and handle a wide variety of handguns.
