What we do

Foresight specializes in research-based support for educational programs that impart essential knowledge, skills and attitudes about hunting, the shooting sports, and outdoor recreation. Our mission is to help agencies, organizations and schools make timely, informed decisions and guide their development of best-in-class learning systems.

Foresight’s overall goal is to improve each learner’s experience. The key objective is to prepare new generations who will value wildlife conservation, promote responsible use of our natural resources and help preserve this uniquely American tradition. Our rigorous field-based evaluation studies, innovative standards-based curriculum development and up-to-date instructional design and delivery are the keys to our client’s success.

For 25 years Foresight and its parent company, Curriculum Research and Evaluation (CRE), have conducted studies of educational programs in a wide variety of disciplines and at all levels – K-12, college and adult education. Foresight produced the online instructor training course and also the online student hunter safety training course (2010) for Outdoor Roadmap and for the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA). This online course, available at www.hunteredcourse.com, provides hunter safety training in 13 states, with the Hunter Ed Card earned accepted in all 50 states and all Canadian provinces. Foresight collaborated with Responsive Management for the design specifications and implementation of the 2015 Needs Assessment of Connecticut’s Hunter Safety Program. Also, Foresight conducted the evaluation of IHEA’s Hunting Related Shooting Incident Academy – CSI in the Wild (2010). The company also published “Handbook for Handguns: A Practical Guide to Ownership, Selection & Use” (2014), which is available in print and online from Amazon, Apple and Kindle.
