Who we are
To tackle each project Foresight assembles a team of professionals with expertise in program evaluation, curriculum development, or instructional design, including online programming. The particular kind of work required for each project decides the members of each team. Typically they are professors and graduate students from colleges and universities or agency personnel. Their application of knowledge, skills and a serious work ethic help Foresight produce timely, high quality results and success for clients.
Evaluation Specialist and Owner
Charles Bruckerhoff is evaluation specialist and owner of Foresight. Charles earned his Ph.D. in philosophy and MS in education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a focus on curriculum development and research methods, and the BS in English and education from Truman State University.
Charles served as the hunter safety coordinator for the State of Connecticut (2007 – 2016). In that capacity, he upgraded the recruitment, training and certification program for volunteer instructors, and revised the bowhunting, firearms hunting and trapping curriculums. He also launched the first best-in-class online plus field day hunter safety program for CT. He has maintained an active role in the International Hunter Education Association (IHEA) since joining in 2007, and has served on a number of IHEA committees, must notably the Standards, Evaluations and Research Committee.
Charles has been shooting firearms for hunting and sporting use since he was 12 years old. He has hunted various game animals for the dinner table, including rabbits, squirrels, quail, pheasants, deer, turkey, bear, and caribou. He is a certified instructor of Archery and Firearms Hunting. He also is an active competitor in skeet and sporting clays events, high power rifle and pistol events. Charles is a NRA certified instructor of handguns.
He is also certified for personal watercraft operation and pursues saltwater fishing with a Parker SE 2100 on Long Island Sound, Block Island Sound, Rhode Island Sound and Narragansett Bay.
Charles is a member of the American Evaluation Association, Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development, International Hunter Education Association, Life Member, National Rifle Association, Endowment Life Member, Safari Club International, Fin Fur and Feather Club, Life Member, and National Skeet Shooting Association.
Charles has published numerous articles on research of disadvantaged youth, urban education and curriculum design. He is also the author of “Between Classes: Faculty Life at Truman High” (1991). He served as a tenured professor at University of Connecticut (1991 -1995) and also at Cleveland State University (1985-1991), conducted field-based research in urban school systems and taught graduate and undergraduate courses in curriculum development and research methods.
He is a veteran of U.S. Army, honorably discharged.
